Experience counts – that’s why 99designs came to us last month with the results of a global survey of entrepreneurs.
While the findings of the survey were interesting, we knew the way to generate maximum publicity was to peg the findings to a genuine news event – that way journalists would be looking for relevant stories to run linked to the occasion.
We decided that International Women’s Day would be the perfect event – especially as 99designs is the world’s largest marketplace for digital design. And with this year’s theme being Be Bold for Change, we quickly got to work analysing the survey for suitable stories and angles.
The end result was a bespoke piece of work highlighting how the odds are still stacked against female entrepreneurs – even in 2017 – as well examining the different approaches the sexes take in setting up their businesses.
The end result was worthy of IWD – among the titles that picked up the story included Forbes and a range of SME and business titles including Startups.co.uk, Tech City News, Elite Business, Small Business, Growth Business and Startacus.
Smiles all round!
