We’ve begun working with an exciting and genuinely innovative AI biotech startup that has a revolutionary plan to build the world’s most advanced AI foundation model for biology.Historically, biology has been studied in isolated silos, with researchers restricted to looking at genes, scans, or proteins separately.
Bioptimus takes a radically different approach and is constructing a universal AI foundation model that connects biology at its different scales. Understanding biology across every scale – from molecules to cells, tissues, and whole organs – can deliver deeper insights than has previously been possible, helping uncover the next generation of medical and pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
At the centre of the project is the construction of the world’s biggest multimodal dataset of tissue samples. When completed, this global database will contain 100,000 specimens – twenty times larger than any existing archive.
To achieve this goal, Bioptimus is working with a network of research institutions and clinical partners, including leading cancer research organisations in US, France and the UK – with each agreement deepening its multimodal biology model in both geography and in scale.
